Mr Green Review – Sportsbook & Casino Offers 2020
Nowadays sports betting and casino gambling go almost hand in hand. Nearly all bookmakers have more than enough selections to pick from both domains, but it’s very interesting for us to study what was their first endeavor: sports betting or casino games? Every modern UK bookmaker started out small, either as a minuscule family-owned British business or as an international powerhouse opening its first office in Britain.
After a series of reviews, we turn our heads towards Mr Green, one of the most recognizable new bookmakers in the UK, mainly thanks to their catchy name and logo. They have most certainly caught our attention, as well as the attention of the UK betting scene – but are they here to stay, or will they disappear in the next few years?
Just like lots of others brokers on the UK betting scene, Mr.Green’s legal entity is based in Malta, on a street with some of the biggest names in European betting. They have been active in Britain since roughly 2010, which gives them quite some experience, although they’ve spent most of this time working solely as a casino.
Their most recognizable thing is their website theme and their logo: a sleek, modern gentleman dressed almost entirely in green, which also happens to be the word which perfectly describes their website. Green logo, green clothes, green layouts … can we also expect green money next?
Mr Green £100 Matched Bonus For New Players*
When first entering their website, the vast majority of the information readily presented is about the casino. It has been voted the best mobile casino in 2016, a feat which is very hard to ignore, considering the big names they had to compete against. The sportsbook is just a part of their website and one that isn’t very visible or heavily promoted on the front page. That being said, we wouldn’t mind if sports betting isn’t their main preoccupation if the offers are good enough to keep us interested.
Speaking about offers, their welcom bonus is one of the best promotions in the market: up to £100 matched bonus for new customers. We’ve also seen a single one in the “Promotions” section which is specifically designed for sports betting. They offer a weekly £5 free bet, under the following conditions: a player must bet at least 25 pounds on a (minimum) 3-fold accumulator, with a minimum odd of 3,00 between Monday and Sunday, to qualify for next week’s free bet.
We all know that winning a 3-fold accumulator is not as easy as it seems, but the bonus is put somewhere between “not worth it” and “challenging”. It’s still good in some conditions, and we can envision a few betting systems which can be easily tailored around it. Sadly, that’s the single clear bonus Mr.Green offers its betting customers. They do mention some others including accumulator bonuses and increased odds, but we found no specifics on their website.
£10 ACCA Free Bet Offer*, Betting Markets, Odds & Sports Selection
Moving on from the bonus section, we’ve taken a look at their offer to see what markets and sports they cover and how their odds look. This is, of course, the bread and butter of every sportsbook, and the place where most online betting agencies lose clients. Here is what we have to say about Mr.Green’s offers so far:
First things first, as soon as we’ve clicked on the “sports betting” section, we’ve had a feeling of déjà vu – which is not wrong in this case! The number of markets, the options per game, the way the entire website is built reminded us of lots of other bookmakers we’ve reviewed positively in the past. The entire structure resembles that of Unibet a lot, which is a big compliment – being compared to one of the top bookmakers.
That being said, the betting plethora is quite large. We’ve seen lots of sports featured, from traditional ones to niche ones, and lots of selections for each sport. Football betting, in particular, is extremely well-represented, both in terms of number of leagues and number of games. It’s very easy to navigate between different leagues, games and bets and even consult some statistics in the meantime; all offered directly in the Mr.Green website. It’s very clear that the bookmaker offers its clients lots of possible events to bet on – now we only had to check their odds.
We’ve reviewed anywhere between 20 or 30 sporting events from a weekend, including football games, tennis games, and even an E-sports final. The odds for niche picks (OG to win the Dota 2 Kiev Major by 3:2, for example) were exactly on par with those of their competitors, while the more standard or famous games had some differences.
Mr Green typically offers very good odds, only 0,01 or 0,02 under those provided by global powerhouses like Bet365 or Unibet – which is understandable, given the big difference in client numbers between the companies. To sum up, Mr Green’s odds are excellent and will only seem lackluster in very specific conditions, especially around systems build around lots of math.
In Play Betting
Since we have mentioned that we’ve seen the website layout Mr Green features with other bookmakers as well, we have to say that bet execution is also on par. Live betting thus works very well, with the only downside being the fact that there is no live video stream available on-site. This shouldn’t be a great inconvenience since the rest of the components of a good live betting website (good odds, good selections, good execution) are all in place.
Casino Section & Up To £100 Welcome Bonus*
Moving away from the sportsbook, we also had a look at the casino part of Mr Green – and quickly saw why it was voted the best mobile casino in 2016. The entire structure of the online gambling site is very well designed, with a wide array of games any customer can choose from. The mobile app also works very well and provides a wonderful gambling experience, and most of Mr.Green’s bonuses are targeted towards casino players – including a matched bonus up to £100 + 200 bonus spins. It’s very hard to find a single thing we don’t like about Mr Green’s casino – and after a few minutes of trying, we just gave up.
Deposits, Payments & Customer Service
After analyzing their betting offers, it’s time to step into a different category: money and customer support. Nothing worth mentioning here or out of the natural order of thins – Mr Green accept most debit and credit cards, as well as deposits via Paypal, Skrill or Neteller. Their customer support is also fantastic – 24/7 online live chat, including on public holidays, e-mail support at [email protected] and even a phone number (+442035100870) which clients can turn to for an old-school conversation. Quite a lot of options, all of which put the customer in contact with a knowledgeable, friendly and polite agent.
In the end, we want to say that Mr Green is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to open a betting account in the UK. The bookmaker offers a fascinating balance between a well-rounded sportsbook and a top-notch casino, so players will have plenty of ways to spend their time and their money. With a little more work around their bonus section and their special offers for football fans, Mr Green can become a top UK bookmaker in no time.
